‘Kill All Koons’ Scrawled Across Black Indiana Church On Thanksgiving Day

Just one month after a Mississippi church was burned to the ground, members of a predominantly Black church in Evansville, Indiana, discovered the message “Kill All Koons” scrawled across the sanctuary doors in chalk on Friday, according to the Evansville Courier & Press.

Vandals also wrote “Koons Inside” on the church van, the outlet reports. Members of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church believe someone carried out the act after the sanctuary’s annual Thanksgiving feast.

“I know there seems to be a rise across the country of ill will toward certain groups of people. But we keep preaching, we will overcome evil with good,” said Rev. Todd Robertson, the church’s pastor.

Robertson says he’s never seen anything like this in his 17 years as a pastor. He believes adversaries may have been riled up after watching the diverse selection of volunteers serve meals to over 300 less fortunate Evansville members on Thanksgiving Day.

“We hope the person will be turned in and held accountable,” he said.

This is the second act of vandalism enacted against Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. According to the Evansville Courier & Press, members found and cleared a threatening message found on the sidewalk near the church’s property three weeks …read more
