Rapper Craig Mack, known for being the start of Diddy‘s Bad Boy Entertainment label, died at the age of 46.
The Daily News reports that Mack suffered heart failure at a hospital near his home in Walterboro, S.C. Monday, March 12.
Mack was known for his 1994 summer hit Flava In Ya Ear that took him into the Hip-Hop world.
Alvin Toney produced Mack’s first album Project: Funk Da World and his Get Down Mix had some kind words for him. “God bless friend. He was a good friend of mine,” he said.
Toney recalls visiting with his friend just a week earlier when he saw him at the Overcomer Ministry church he attends in Walterboro where he was filming a documentary on his life and his decision to drop fame for a life in Christianity.
“I wanted the world to know the talent he had,” expressed Toney. “It was something I wanted people to enjoy, but it was cut short because he was very religious and wanted to go to church.”
Mack had revealed to Toney that he was sick but was ready. “He was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord,” explained Toney.
